Stainless steel fin tubes are a type of heat exchanger tube that have fins attached to the outer surface in Supplier Europe.

What is Stainless Steel Fin Tube

We ensure the procurement of plain stainless steel tubes for finning, rigorously tested to meet material specifications and codes. These tubes undergo hydro testing and eddy current testing, sourced solely from reputable plain tube manufacturers, as per customer specifications.

The fins on these tubes significantly enhance surface area, facilitating efficient heat transfer between the tube's fluid and its surroundings. Widely used across HVAC, refrigeration, power generation, and petrochemical sectors, stainless steel fin tubes excel where corrosion resistance and durability are paramount.

Should customers require, we arrange the procurement of plain stainless steel tubes, meticulously inspected, approved, and released either by the customer or a third-party inspection agency, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards right at the manufacturer's end.

Stainless Steel Fin Tube Oil and Gas Sector

Finned Tubing is widely used for efficient heat transfer in crossflow heat exchangers. With liquid flowing inside and air or gas outside, these tubes excel in transferring heat from liquid to gas, thermal fluid to air, and vapor to gas. Extruded Fin Tubes, particularly effective with their enhanced surface area, are often preferred for such applications, contributing to the sector's overall success in heat transfer operations.

Why use stainless steel?

Stainless steel offers a wide range of advantages, making it a preferred choice across various industries. Its key characteristics include

  • Good Corrosion Resistance
  • Smooth Surface
  • High Strength
  • Malleability
  • Easy Maintenance

Industries such as aerospace, appliances, architecture, automotive, chemical processing, electronics, food service, HVAC, medical, marine, power generation, oil and gas, and tool and die all benefit from the use of stainless steel. Its versatility and reliability make it indispensable in diverse applications, ensuring optimal performance and longevity in demanding environments.

Stainless Steel Fin Tube Material

Stainless steel fin tubes are crafted from stainless steel, renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance and robust strength. Various grades of stainless steel are utilized based on specific application needs.

Seamless Stainless Steel - SA-213 TP304, TP304L, TP316, TP316L

Welded Stainless Steel - SA-249 TP304, TP304L, TP316, TP316L

300 Series in Finned Tubing

The 300 series stainless steel, including Type 301, 304, and 316, is widely favored for finned tubing. Type 301 offers high strength and ductility, while Type 304 is non-magnetic in the annealed state and becomes slightly magnetic after cold work. Type 304L is preferred for welding applications, and Type 316 provides enhanced corrosion resistance and strength at elevated temperatures.

400 Series in Finned Tubing

The 400 series stainless steel, such as 409, 430, and 439, offers improved oxidation and corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel. Type 439, in particular, provides excellent resistance for automotive exhaust system components and residential furnace primary heat exchangers, making it an ideal choice for high-temperature applications.

FAQ

Finned tubes are used in heat exchangers to enhance heat transfer between fluids inside and outside the tubes. By adding fins, the external surface area increases, improving the heat transfer rate, especially when the external fluid has a lower heat transfer coefficient.

Pin fin tubes weigh less than L type fin tubes because they use less material due to their wire construction. Despite having less surface area, the looped wire creates superior turbulence, enhancing heat transfer efficiency and resulting in a higher performance-to-weight ratio.

We do not stock fin tubes. Our market caters to custom-designed products, each unique. The vast combinations of diameter, length, materials, and fin specifications make stocking impractical. Sunny Steel builds each finned product to meet individual customer requirements.
