In many cases, by using just a singular finned tube, six or even more bare tubes can be replaced, at less than 1/4th the volume and 1/3rd the cost.

Finned tube bundle are used a lot in air-cooled exchangers, as this kind of tubing is great in compensating for low air-side heat-transfer coefficient. Almost all of the applications that are used in the oil and gas industry, call for heat transfer taking place from hot fluid to cold fluid and this calls for a relevant medium to be used.
