ASTM A335 P22 Alloy Steel Pipe

ASTM A335 P22 Pipe is a carbon steel pipe with a chromium content of 1.9%. This material exhibits strength and corrosion resistance comparable to the 304-grade austenitic stainless steel. However, its composition imparts remarkable wear and tear properties, thanks to its hardness and toughness. SA179 Tubes (India) is a prominent manufacturer of these pipes, offering a wide range of dimensions, shapes, and types. The wall thickness of these pipes spans from 3mm to 12mm.

These pipes have outer dimensions starting from 16.5mm, making them larger diameter pipes, with lengths extending up to 16000mm. The P22 Pipe Material consists of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, and molybdenum. This composition results in a minimum tensile strength of 415MPa and a minimum yield strength of 205MPa. The P22 Seamless Pipe can be welded using various procedures such as fusion welding, GTAW, ER80S-B2, and others. These procedures require preheating and post-welding heat treatment to ensure the stability of the welded joint.
