Carbon Steel 1035 Tubes are of medium carbon steel and they have a combination of 0.60-0.90% manganese and 0.32-0.37% carbon. AISI 1040 Pipes have good tensile strength and they are a medium strength steel, ideal for keys, stressed pins, shafts, studs, etc. They have long wearing properties, they are ductile and they have a combination of 0.60-0.90% manganese and 0.37-0.44% carbon. SAE 1518 Pipes are low carbon steel tubings, also called mild steel tubes and pipes. They have a combination of 1.10-1.40% manganese and 0.15-0.21% carbon. These are low-cost tubings and are very easy to shape and form. SAE 1541 Pipe are medium carbon steel tubings and they have a combination of 1.35-1.65% manganese and 0.36-0.44% carbon. They have long wearing properties and they are strong and ductile. Globally, they are used in general purpose applications.
